The claim
“The people earning $5K to $10K per month with AI right now are not smarter than you and they are not working more hours than you.”
@JulianGoldieSEO, 1 April 2026, 1,865 views1
Its heading includes the words DEPLOY AI AGENTS THAT EARN FOR YOU. It later says: “Day 30: hit $5K.”1 It links to a paid community124.
Our most-viewed tweet (248,232 views) says an unnamed man built 20 AI agents (programs that act by themselves) that made him $20,000 in a month for $400 in costs1. This page judges the scheme, not the people who tweeted.
The sums
That tweet’s own parts are $16,000 from three Etsy shops selling print-on-demand goods (printed after a customer orders) and $3,400 from $20 jobs on Fiverr, a freelance marketplace: $19,400 (our sum)1. By its wording this covers two months or more, and it is sales, not what the owner keeps1.
After fees and printing, Printify’s worked example keeps 24.7% of an Etsy sale; one established seller says 45%, unverified24. Fiverr pays out 80%8. So if every figure is true, about $6,700 to $9,900 is left, before any advert spend (our estimate)1248. Printify’s example omits Etsy’s Offsite Ads fee, a further 12% on orders from adverts Etsy buys for a shop this size, so less is kept on those orders23.
The $400 is only the model subscription, two $200 OpenAI plans110. The tweet names no person or shop, and we found no original source1.
The tweet says the system collects what already sells on Etsy and reproduces the designs with small changes1. Etsy’s terms forbid collecting its pages by program, and its rules require AI-made items to be labelled67. So the method puts the shops at risk of removal. We found no data on how often Etsy acts.
The quoted tweet says its system works “without needing clients”, yet it prices only two routes: work that businesses pay “$1K to $3K per month” for, and agent set-ups sold “for $2K to $5K”1. Both need clients: 2 to 5 paying businesses or 1 to 3 set-up sales to reach $5,000 by day 30 (our sums)1.
What happens to most people who try
We found no study of what a typical agent fleet earns, only a few published tests, which lean towards people who chose to publish. Agents left alone made from $0 to about $200131667. Two agent-run stores with people involved took more in sales and still lost money1423.
- A lab gave seven leading models $300 each and up to 72 hours; they sent 2,797 emails and took $0 in revenue13.
- Four agents each ran a merchandise shop for about three weeks and made $22 to $126 profit16.
- An agent given $100 and a month reports reaching $200 because a developer hired it for coding; we saw no proof of payment6768.
- An AI-run shop with human staff shows $27,745 of sales against $26,931 paid for the AI model, before rent, stock and wages (our sums)1415.
The upside
We found no verified case of a bought fleet earning by itself. The verified money comes from selling to people who want agents. “Payment-verified” means a listing site read the revenue from the founder’s payment account31. It is revenue, not profit.
- RoofClaw sells roofing companies a laptop with agent software set up, at $10,000 a build. Payment-verified: $1,856,163 since February 2026, $0 in the last 30 days; we cannot tell why31.
- CreativeClaw, a tool for agent users, shows $132,281 payment-verified, $111,617 of it in the last 30 days69. Its expected monthly subscription income is $10,850, so most of that is one month’s spike69.
- Felix, an agent, shows $211,427 lifetime and $1,811 in the last 30 days on its operator’s own feed37. Only its guide product is payment-verified, at $90,915 all-time32.
Of 188 listed start-ups built with one agent program, the top one took about 70% of the last 30 days’ revenue, and the 158 outside the top 30 shared about $5,900, roughly $37 each (our estimates; only the top 30 were visible)34. Founders choose to be listed, so this probably flatters the field34.
What it takes to compete
Those who earn have something agent users want to buy, usually with an audience or industry contacts first3138. They build and correct the system themselves and supply daily judgment38.
The software is free, and model access is $100 to $500 a month on OpenAI’s Pro plans101112. The largest cost is months of your own time with little or no income1820.
How to tell early: has a stranger paid within 30 to 60 days? In the tests, agents built things quickly and found no buyers1318.
Who else makes money from it
The quoted tweet’s community is AI Profit Boardroom, listed as “By Julian Goldie”124. Its page shows 3,391 members at $69 a month24. That is about $234,000 a month if all paid that, or about $113,000 on the $399 yearly plan (our estimates; the real figure is unknown)124. It shows a 4.9 rating from 128 member reviews; those we read praise the teaching24. Its 30-day guarantee tests saved time or leads, not the tweet’s $5,000 to $10,000 a month124. No member earnings are published2426.
