The claim
“All you need to hit 6 figures. >> A couple hundred followers >> A bunch of value content to solve problems >> A simple landing page that shows your offer >> All your traffic directed to that landing page $10k a month MINIMUM.”

“High-ticket” means a high price per customer: at least $5,000 in one seller’s pitch, recorded in a complaint by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the US consumer-protection regulator6. “6 figures” means $100,000 or more a year, which is why $10,000 a month follows. A “landing page” is a single web page presenting an offer. The method, often called a funnel: post free, useful material, then sell a coaching programme on a booked sales call. None of our 8 tweets states a price, a number of calls or a cost, so the $5,000 price below is our assumption1. This page judges the scheme, not the people who tweeted.
The sums
Income is price times sales. Sales are booked calls, times the share who show up, times the share who buy. We use figures from one sales-training company’s pitches, recorded in that FTC complaint: 80% show up, and 20% buy, the lowest close rate pitched6. The FTC alleged those pitches overstated earnings, and they describe hired salespeople, not a coach selling their own offer6. We add a 10% column because a newcomer’s rate is unknown.
| Monthly income | Offer price | Sales a month | Booked calls at 20% | Booked calls at 10% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $10,000 | $5,000 | 2 | about 13 | 25 |
| $30,000 | $5,000 | 6 | about 38 | 75 |
These are our estimates, before costs. The calls are the hard part. No public figure links views or followers to booked calls9.
A small following does not rule it out: at $5,000, $100,000 needs 20 buyers (our sum).
What happens to most people who try
The biggest survey of working coaches, with 14,591 responses, found 53% took in under $30,000 a year from coaching in 2022, though 93% also sold other services2.
In US tax records for one-person consulting businesses in 2023, a wider group than coaching, about 14%, or one business in seven, took in $100,000 or more before costs (our sum)5. Roughly 1 to 3% reached $30,000 to $50,000 a month (our estimate)5. Nearly four in ten took in under $10,000, which suggests side or part-year work (our sum)5.
A firm that coaches consultants surveyed its own mailing list, with no sample size given, and reports: “Over 70% of consultants are generating 8 calls or less per month”65. Asked which marketing brings most clients, 4% named social media65. Many still earn well, mostly through referrals65.
The upside
People report these incomes, but we found no independently verified income for a high-ticket offer sold on calls from content.
- Verified, but a different model. A data-engineering training business that sells a subscription, not calls, shows $4,728,361 of all-time revenue since March 2023, read directly from its payment processor59.
- Own statement. A YouTube-strategy coach published $24,285 for January 2025, of which $12,500 was one-to-one coaching61. He had a 694-subscriber business channel, a 15,726-subscriber personal channel, 4,594 email subscribers and about four years of writing online, and he says every sale came through his email list61.
- Own statement. SooWei Goh, who sells a sales-funnel programme and is named by someone else in one of our tweets, states $151,000 and later $408,000 a month in his YouTube channel description14647. We found no independent record of either figure.
Nobody measures first-year income. Our estimate: a competent person with a skill others pay for and existing contacts in the field might reach $2,000 to $6,000 a month in the first one to two years296162.
What it takes to compete
Those who succeed mostly have a skill people already pay for, plus referrals or an audience65. One anonymous coach wrote: “It took me over 12 years to get to 6 figures.”48
Card fees and a hired salesperson take about 13% of a sale (our estimate)1215. The real cost is time: expect a year or more of publishing with little income4852.
How to tell early:
- Has anyone already paid you for this help? If not, a funnel has nothing to add to. The terms of one seller of client-getting systems, read in a cached copy from October 2025, say: “We exclusively work with businesses that are already operating.”20
- Count booked calls, not views. After three months of regular posting, compare them with the table.
Who else makes money from it
Sellers of funnels and client-getting systems are paid whether or not clients arrive, unless a guarantee applies1020. Skool, which hosts paid groups, pays referrers “40% of monthly recurring revenue for life”, so recommending a “system” can carry a monthly commission18.
The largest documented sums are those the FTC says sellers of systems collected: about $50 million alleged in one case and more than $29 million in another723. One programme, called KBA, promised buyers a business selling their own online course and cost $3,500 to $9,80022. The FTC alleged: “In most instances, KBA purchasers do not make a single sale and therefore do not earn any income.”22 Both cases were settled without a trial, concern only those companies, and name no account in our collection723.
