Platform referral programs

Also sold as “Whop partner and Whop affiliate income”

VerdictBig sellers or audience

Referring businesses pays those who land big sellers: Whop’s ten top partners got about $34,000 to $75,000 each in 30 days. $1,000 a month needs roughly $90,000 to $230,000 of referred monthly sales. Promoting products to buyers takes an audience; no earnings are published.

    $90K–$230K

a month sold by businesses you refer to Whop, roughly, for $1,000 a month (our estimate)8

  2. 2What usually happens
    1.28%

of sign-ups to 2,847 software affiliate programmes made at least one sale; no Whop figure19

  3. 3The upside
    about $75,000

credited to Whop's top partner in 30 days; nothing is published below the top ten8

  4. 4What it takes
    $1.9 million

The claim

“If you refer 50 people per month to @Divine_IO ‘s Creator Program, you would make ~$150,000. And you’d have to do zero work after they signed up. If you think you can do that, dm me. I’ve paid out more to affiliates than anyone in the history of @whop and I want to pay more.”

@thecaseywoodard, 24 July 2026, 2,763 views1

This page judges the scheme, not the people who tweeted. Divine is a reselling community on Whop37. We could not find its Creator Program’s terms and opened no proof for either claim in the tweet, so we cannot test the $150,0001.

Whop, named most in our collection, is a website for selling courses, paid communities and software1. Partners refer a business and get a share of what Whop earns from it4. Affiliates refer a buyer and get 30% of the sale price by default1213. Another tweet (9,329 views) says a partner gets 30% of Whop’s 2.9% fee, so a business selling $100,000 a month pays $870 a month1.

The sums

Whop’s pages disagree on what the 30% is a share of. Three say its profit, what it keeps of its fee after its costs; two say its revenue, the whole fee235438. One says “up to 30%”3.

Whop publishes a leaderboard of its ten highest-earning partners8943. Dividing each partner’s earnings by the payments their businesses took gives the rate received (our estimate). In a snapshot of 10 October 2026, the ten together received 0.44% for the last 30 days, and the middle partner 1.1% over the year and all time8439. Ordinary partners may differ.

At those rates, $1,000 a month means your referred businesses together sell roughly $90,000 to $230,000 a month, and $10,000 a month means roughly $900,000 to $2.3 million a month (our estimate)8439. The second tweet’s 0.87% sits inside that span1.

What happens to most people who try

Whop publishes only the top ten, with no number of partners and no median, the figure for the middle partner83. For the buyer side it publishes no earnings17.

The best outcome data we found is not about Whop and may not match it. Rewardful, which sells affiliate software, analysed 2,847 active programmes for software products that run on its system, and found that 1.28% of people who signed up as affiliates produced at least one sale19.

The one detailed account we found starts at approval. Dennis Yu, approved as a partner on 4 September 2026, saw the top ten and “my own row at $0”, and wrote: “I have no visibility into the median.”18 He discloses that he earns through his own partner link18.

How long payments last is unsettled. Whop’s partners page says “Perpetuity”, but its Earnings Terms say commissions on a referred seller stop after six months, and that Whop may change or end the programme at any time415.

The upside

A good result for a newcomer is arithmetic, not measured (our estimate, assuming payments do not stop after six months)15. A few small sellers bring tens of dollars to a few hundred dollars a month20. Three businesses each selling $100,000 a month bring about $1,300 to $3,300 a month, at 0.44% to 1.1%8439.

What it takes to compete

Cash costs are low: nothing to join, and $199 for an optional “Verified” tier411. The real cost is unpaid time finding and persuading business owners; no source gives the hours.

To tell early (our judgement): add up what the business owners you can already reach sell online each month, and multiply by 0.4% to 1.1%8439. If the answer is far below your target, the plan depends on finding strangers.

Who else makes money from it

Whop comes first. It pays nothing unless the referred business takes payments, and keeps at least 70% of its profit on that business (our reading)35.

A partner who recruits another partner gets 10% of what Whop earns from that recruit’s businesses4.

The four reviews in the full research all have a stated interest: three carry a Whop referral link, Dennis Yu’s among them, and one is a rival platform18202122.
