The claim
“i have AI content creators clearing up to $10,000 a month in profit”
@maverickecom, 18 September 2026, 1,622 views; the tweet continues and is cut off in our copy1
“Just hundreds of shoppable TikTok videos going live every single day — automatically.”
@maverickecom, 19 January 2026, 436,762 views; the tweet continues and is cut off in our copy1
This page judges the scheme, not the people who tweeted. An affiliate posts videos about someone else’s product and earns a commission, a percentage of each sale. The tweets add AI: software makes a presenter who does not exist (an “avatar”), so one person can post far more videos.
The sums
Income is orders times price times the seller’s commission rate. FastMoss, a company that sells TikTok Shop data, reports medians of 20% for health and 15% for beauty19. TikTok publishes no average rate3839. The $25 price is our assumption; the order counts are our estimates.
| Monthly income | Orders at $25 and 15% | Orders per day |
|---|---|---|
| $1,000 | about 267 | about 9 |
| $10,000 | about 2,670 | about 89 |
If a buyer returns the product, the commission goes too1042.
An affiliate with under 5,000 followers may post up to 3 product-link videos a day for at least 30 days2. Since 11 May 2026 every US account is capped at 30 a day2. The second tweet above dates from January 2026, before that cap1. Hundreds of videos a day needs at least 10 accounts at the full cap (our estimate), each with a verified adult behind it to withdraw money2. TikTok lists automating many accounts as spam8.
What happens to most people who try
TikTok does not publish what affiliates earn38.
A rough average, our estimate: take eMarketer’s forecast of $23.41 billion of US TikTok Shop sales in 2026, read only as quoted by others, and suppose all of it went through affiliates at 15%2728. Split among about 945,000 US affiliates with a sale, a count relayed by a trade site, that is about $310 a month each62. The real average is lower, because not all sales go through affiliates, and the typical affiliate earns less again, because a few accounts take most sales.
Our estimate of the common outcome: weeks or months to reach 1,000 followers, 30 days or more at 3 videos a day, then between nothing and a few hundred dollars a month. This rests on one self-reported case and market counts, not a measured median236.
The upside
The winners with documented figures film real products they hold.
- A part-timer. A writer publishing as Random Olive reports $19,069 of commission in her first year, before cancellations36. Her ten later monthly reports average about $744 a month (our sum)37. These are her own statements.
- A creator with an audience. Lexi Rosenstein, with about 150,000 followers, has $300,000 to $600,000 of sales a month, as Modern Retail reports from the creator’s side35.
- The top group. A trade summary counts 1,785 US creators with over $1 million of sales in 202526. At 15% to 20% commission, $10,000 a month needs $600,000 to $800,000 of sales a year, so it means joining a few thousand US creators at most (our estimates)2653.
- AI-made videos. TikTok allows them if they are labelled and show the real product3. Business Insider saw a screenshot of one AI-video maker’s profile with “tens of thousands of dollars in product sales”30. Named AI-avatar affiliates exist and earn commission, but none has published or verified earnings27: undocumented, not disproven.
What it takes to compete
- Followers or an invitation. 1,000 followers to apply yourself, or a shop’s invitation, and 5,000 to post more than 3 videos a day213.
- The product in hand. TikTok’s quality rules ask for videos that “feature your face and the physical product”4. How strictly this applies to labelled AI videos is not known.
- Knowledge of the rules. A new account has little room for error: six repeats of one violation in 90 days can freeze commissions911. SharkNinja told affiliates that those using AI-generated content “will have their commissions removed”, as reported from the Wall Street Journal2729.
Random Olive reports $30 to start and now about an hour a day36. One AI-actor tool costs about $11 a video by a third-party review, about $990 a month at a new account’s cap (our estimate)43.
To tell early (our judgement): after a month at 3 videos a day2, compare your daily orders with the table, and count only money that has reached your bank.
Who else makes money from it
TikTok takes a referral fee from the seller on every order: 6% on its public page14.
One account wrote 9 of the 18 tweets we collected on this scheme1. Our notes record invitations to apply to work with it or join its creator community; we saw no priced course in these tweets1.
Other sellers’ courses and groups run from $19 a month, on pages read through a summarising tool, to $8,000 for six months4850. The top price is a third-party tracker’s figure for a course on running your own shop48.
